Adriana
Davis Adriana Davis has worked in film, television and radio as a writer, producer and editor since 1991. She co-founded D-Squared Media in 1995 to create documentaries, commercials and feature films. In 1998, she began producing, writing and editing an acclaimed trilogy of films about Iraq’s Jewish culture and history. THE LIFE OF FRANK INY (2001) and SEARCHING FOR BAGHDAD (2002) aired on PBS and at over 50 festivals throughout the US, CANADA, ISRAEL and EUROPE. The third documentary in the series is entitled THE LAST JEWS OF BAGHDAD: END OF AN EXILE; BEGINNING OF A JOURNEY which was released in February 2005 and has been playing to sold out audiences throughout the US, CANADA and Israel with a theatrical release imminent in the near future. Over the last 20 years, Adriana has produced award-winning television documentaries for A&E, History Channel, CNN, CourtTV and many others on a variety of topics including profiles of young girls obsessed with competing in beauty pageants, American-Jewish settlers moving their families to Israel’s West Bank, a notorious biker gang from Brooklyn and a homeless community living in geometric domes in the heart of Los Angeles. In 2001, she created, developed and produced a weekly radio talk series for WNEW-FM called COURAGEOUS RADIO that invited listeners to examine and expand the intricacies of their lives. During
the summer of 2004, Ms. Davis produced her first feature-length narrative film,
a romantic comedy entitled PLAY IT BY EAR
starring Academy Award Winner® Rita Moreno. The film is expected to be
released in April 2005. In
2006, Ms. Davis hopes to release two new documentaries: WHAT’S FOR LUNCH? KIDS, FOOD & LEARNING offers an insiders
view of New York City’s school cafeterias and childhood nutrition and A
GRAND IDEA about retired high school Principal Al Grand's sixty year quest
to translate every Gilbert & Sullivan operetta into Yiddish and have a
professional, theatrical staging on Broadway. She will
also be continuing development talks with NYC-TV
and WNYE-FM radio to produce several
programs and series celebrating New York City’s unique history and origins.
Ms. Davis will also continue her film work by producing a new independent short KILL
JOHNNY MILLS a murder mystery crafted in the film-noir style and editing a
new feature-length narrative LIKE A
SPRINGSTEEN SONG, the story of
love found and lost through time. Adriana Davis is a proud native New Yorker and life-long Yankee fan.
